The Innovation and Learning Specialist will use their in-depth contextual understanding, technical expertise, and relationship building skills to define and deliver U-RIL’s strategy. He/she will lead strategy development and the technical design and implementation of high-quality programmes, approaches and activities. He /She will support national advocacy and influencing, while driving strategic partnerships for new business development. He/she will work closely with operations colleagues and with partners in Uganda building their capacity and building ownership and agency of local organisations. This role includes a focus on external representation on priority issues as defined by the Uganda Country Strategic Plan and U-RIL strategy.

Save the Children Uganda recognises the importance of a collaborative, motivated and high-performing Supply Chain team in ensuring effective and efficient programme delivery. The team building activity is intended to strengthen teamwork, communication, trust and collaboration among Supply Chain staff, while providing an opportunity to reflect, connect and enhance team effectiveness. The activity will be conducted over two days.

Save the Children Uganda invites suitably qualified and experienced consultants to submit proposals for the Provision of Consultancy Services for the Outcome Harvesting Study under the NORAD Framework Programme, “Transforming the Future for and with Children.” The consultancy will document and analyse significant changes resulting from interventions on child participation, social accountability, governance, climate action and disaster risk reduction, generating evidence on how children and young people are influencing decision-making, policies, planning and service delivery at community, district and national levels. The assignment will also strengthen Save the Children Uganda’s capacity to use Outcome Harvesting for learning, adaptive management, accountability and evidence generation.

PRESS RELEASEFor Immediate ReleaseEuropean Union Provides Additional €3 Million to Strengthen Education Access for Refugee and Host Community Children in UgandaKampala, Uganda – May 22nd, 2026As Europe Day 2026 was celebrated on Saturday, 9 May 2026, and as the European Union marks 50 years of partnership with Uganda since the establishment of the EU Delegation in Kampala in 1976, the European Union, through its humanitarian funding, has provided an additional €3 million to the Building Resilient Inclusive Systems for Locally Led Education and Protection (RISE) Project in Uganda. This additional funding, allocated through the Humanitarian Implementation Plan (HIP) 2026, builds on the EU’s initial €5 million contribution in 2025 and further strengthens efforts to ensure that refugee and Ugandan children affected by displacement can access safe, inclusive, and quality education. The additional funding is accompanied by a project time extension from February 2027 to April 2027, enabling partners to consolidate gains and sustain impact.

Save the Children Uganda is seeking consultancy services from competent and qualified professionals to submit proposals for given tenders.

Uganda hosts over 1.9million refugees, making it Africa’s largest refugee-hosting country. In Palabek Refugee Settlement alone 90,000 refugees, of whom 83% women and children, face challenges in accessing education and protection services. Today, Save the Children is launching “Strengthening education and child protection services for refugee children in Palabek Settlement, Northern Uganda”, a two-year project in partnership with a Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO/Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. The project is supported through UNIQLO’s PEACE FOR ALL global campaign.

With support from Community Chest of Korea, Save the Children is reaching 3,300 refugees and host communities in Palabek Refugee Settlement, Lamwo district by strengthening food security through nutri-cash in Palabek Refugee Settlement. The project seeks to have an improvement in the Food consumption Score of households targeting children, expectant and lactating mothers, elderly caregivers, female headed & child headed households and persons living with disabilities.

Save the Children signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals in order to strengthen child protection within Uganda’s fast-growing mineral sector. The signing took place in October during the 14th Annual Mineral Wealth Conference held at Serena Kampala.

Save the Children Uganda was recognized and appreciated by the Ministry of Health and the Committee of Experts on the National Safe Motherhood Committee for its outstanding contribution to strengthening the policy environment, planning, and monitoring and evaluation of Adolescent Health and School Health programmes. This recognition further highlighted our role in supporting the implementation of the National Adolescent Health Costed Implementation Plan (ADH CIP) and in building the coordination capacity of districts heavily burdened by teenage pregnancy.
