VCA is an annual award organised by the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) to recognise outstanding organisations, individuals and products in Vietnam’s digital content creation sector. "Happy Read” was among 15 works, products, programmes and projects honoured from a total of 328 entries selected for the preliminary round of this year’s awards.

Happy Read provides child-friendly, interactive and multi-platform digital learning resources to help primary school students, particularly ethnic minority children and children in disadvantaged areas, strengthen their Vietnamese reading comprehension and digital skills while navigating the online environment more safely. In addition to Vietnamese, the app has incorporated sign language and H’Mong- and Bahnar-language reading materials for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, helping make learning resources more accessible and relevant to diverse groups of children. To date, the app has been implemented and shared across nine provinces and cities, reaching more than 45,000 parent–student pairs, 5,600 teachers and 550 schools nationwide.

These results have been made possible through the collaboration and support of education partners, technology partners, education experts, teachers and schools in developing content, building the app and expanding its reach. Save the Children sincerely thanks all partners for their support throughout this journey, particularly the Dien Bien Provincial Department of Education and Training, where the app was first piloted and successfully scaled up province-wide.

Recognition from VCA 2026 marks an encouraging milestone for Save the Children and gives us further motivation to continue creating practical, child-friendly digital content and solutions that help expand equitable, inclusive and safe opportunities for every child to learn and thrive in the digital environment. ❤️
